101 West 14th Street’s design by ODA Architecture makes a dramatic statement on a corner where Greenwich Village meets Chelsea. The bank building formerly on-site was demolished, but a mural dating back to 1954 was carefully removed and rescued.

Twenty-five years ago, who would have thought the western end of 14th Street would be a locus for high-end residential development? Partly thanks to the nearby Google's New York headquarters, the High Line and Chelsea Market, the thoroughfare at the junction of Greenwich Village , Chelsea , and the Meatpacking District has seen more than a dozen new condo buildings in recent years. ODA New York has produced some of the city's liveliest residential buildings of recent times. Led by Eran Chen, the firm's buildings creatively interpret the city's zoning code to produce volumetric designs replete with outdoor space and visual interest. Their latest work comes in at 101 West 14th Street , at the central corner of Sixth Avenue in Chelsea. Brought to market by Gemini Rosemont, the 44-unit condominium usurps a mid-century bank building who's final days were made famous by one of Banksy's impromptu murals.
